Paul Artaria

Paul Artaria was a Swiss architect.

He trained as a draftsman and gained professional experience in Arles and Lausanne until 1913, when he found employment with Hans Bernoulli, where he learned the basics of housing construction.

Later he worked with Karl Zäslin and Hans Schmidt, with whom he became a leading figure in the construction of housing estates and single-family houses in the style of Neues Bauen.

Paul Artaria belonged to the Basel artists' group Gruppe 33, published books on architecture and was active as a lecturer and instructor.
