Ignác Vécsei was born as Ignác Weisz. After completing his studies, he worked briefly in Budapest before settling in Bratislava, where he worked together with Friedrich Weinwurm in a shared architectural practice from 1924 onwards. For the National Socialists, his Jewish background was enough to condemn him and his wife to death in The Holocaust at Auschwitz.
