Ettore (sr.) Sottsass

Ettore Sottsass was an Italian architect. He studied in Trentino and Tyrol and later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under the architect Friedrich Ohmann. During his professional career, he designed and realised numerous projects in northern Italy and participated in high-level competitions.

In 1929 he moved to Turin and, together with Giuseppe Pagano, Gino Levi-Montalcini, Ottorino Aloisio, Umberto Cuzzi and Giuseppe Gyra, actively participated in the founding of the regional core of MIAR (Italian Movement for Rational Architecture).
