Light and colours
Description
From the outside it is hard to imagine that the visual appeal inside is so great. The exterior is designed as a hexagon, which is perceived more as a triangle. With the roof structures, the short and long sides of the hexagons are always twisted against each other. The name of the church receives architectural support with the symbols of the 3. Windows are installed in the roof structures, which brightly illuminate the interior. The strong colours on the inside and the recurring triangular shape dominate. The benches are aligned with the chancel. The organ is placed above the entrance.
History
The increasing number of Catholics in Halle, which came here because of the booming industry, made it necessary to built from 1929 to 1930 this church. This catholic church designed by Wilhelm Ulrich remained unique in this part of Germany because of its shape and colour scheme inside. Up until 1924, a neo-baroque building was planned for the new Catholic church. The monastry next to the church was built according to the plan from 1924.
