The villa of an influential owner of a construction company.

Description

The villa was built in the Havlíčkova kolonie settlement along Dukelská Street as the last functionalist building. Petráš uses two different materials for the facade. Plastering he applied to most of the house, while the stairway is highlighted with ceramic tiles. The semicircular shape of the staircase also contrasts with the angular shapes of the house. The homeowner did not decide for a purely private use of this villa. The ground floor was originally rented out, the two upper floors were designed for private use.

History

This villa from 1939 was the second that František Petráš built in České Budějovice. With the development in architecture, his residential buildings were also an advertisement for the construction company he ran with his brothers. In addition, the villas are a kind of exhibition of the company's skills. The house is not in the best condition these days.
