Zdeněk Jura studied Prague and started to work as a painter. He also worked as a teacher in Česká Lípa and Turnov. In 1925 he was one of the fouders of the Železný Brod Glass School. He bacame the teacher for glass painting and designed mainly glass and public areas. In November 1939 he finished his work at school and in the museum association and moved away from Železný Brod.
Since 1952 he lived in Brno and designed books.
