Miroslav Zátka was member of a very influential family from České Budějovice. They were involved in the foundation of the Budvar brewery and owned soda, lemonade and pasta factories. The pasta factory still exists today. A Czech phrase sums their fame: "What Rieger (František Rieger was a Czech politician who championed the interests of the Czechs within the Austro-Hungarian monarchy) is to the Czech nation, Zátka is to the Czechs in České Budějovice."
As co-owner of the business enterprise, Miroslav Zátka ordered a villa for himself and his family in Husova Street. The family will only be able to live there for a short time. First they are expropriated by the Germans at the beginning of World War II, then by the communist state in 1948. They will then live in his parents' flat in České Budějovice.
