                                    Wilhelm Lochstampfer first studied drawing and architecture at the Stuttgart Technical University. Most of his career he teached at universities or worked in state instutions dealing with civil engineering in Karlsruhe. He was an active member during the Nazi-period in Germany. He remained in the position of a professor after 1945 until he was retired in 1949.
