After finishing his studies in civil engineering he started to work as an official engineer for the Prussian state. In 1918 he established his own architectural office in Ústí nad Labem. He designed a lot of houses not only in the Ústí nad Labem region.
Apart from a project that bears the characteristics of modern architecture, he was rather a representative of traditional building methods. His settlement "Heimat" in Ústí nad Labem from 1933 is a very prominent example his work.
