Julius Maurizio was a cantonal architect and senior civil servant in the building department and shaped the cityscape of modern Basel, Switzerland. He also worked as an architect. He studied in Germany, Holland and Switzerland and his work was influenced by Hans Benno Bernoulli, a Swiss architect.
