Hans Schwippert

June 25, 1899 in Remscheid, Germany
Oct. 18, 1973 in Düsseldorf, Germany

After studying architecture he went to Berlin in 1924. There he worked in the office of Erich Mendelsohn. In 1927 he moved to Aachen, because Rudolf Schwarz wanted him as a teacher at his school. In the interwar period he created together with Rudolf Schwarz the St. Christi Corpus Church in Aachen, his most important building before World War II.

In 1948 it is the Bundeshaus in Bonn, which still features many stylistic elements from the interwar period.
