Ede Novák completed his architectural studies in 1910. Together with Béla Barát, he designed buildings until his death. Not much is known about his life. It must have been a very drastic experience that his father died early and he had to support his seven younger siblings financially. He took on several jobs with different construction companies at the same time.
He tended to use all neo-styles and from the 1930s also modern elements. The team was characterised by the division of labour. Ede Novák carried out the construction planning and Béla Barát the final decoration tasks.
After Béla Barát's death in 1945, he continued to run the office alone. However, it was closed in 1948 due to communist regulations in Hungary. He worked in various state organisations until his death.
