April 6, 1965 in Prague (Praha), Czechia

Běla Friedländerová was a successful swimmer and skier. She probably did not complete a medical degree, but throughout her life she taught gymnastics and rhythm courses for expectant mothers and women after childbirth. Her interest in sports and exercise brought her to the construction of the Hotel Axa, in which a large swimming pool was designed. During the construction of the hotel she was married to Václav Havel, the father of the future President with the same name. At that time she was called Běla Havlová. The marriage ended in divorce in 1933. Then she married Václav Pilc, with whom she built the hotel and became Běla Pilcová.
