Beda Hefti was a Swiss architect and is considered a pioneer of sports buildings, especially swimming pools. He studied at the ETH Zurich and received a diploma in civil engineering. He opened an engineering office in Freiburg (CH) and designed numerous outdoor swimming pools in Switzerland. Hefti devoted himself to the Neues Bauen style from around 1930. Later he also worked on water supply, road and industrial construction.
