The triangular shape of the petrol station and its roof corresponds to the shape of the surrounding streets. However, the decision was made to close the boomerang-style roof, creating a more square roof to allow customers to fill up with more protection. Identical petrol stations have only survived in Wrocław (Poland) and Fürstenwalde (Germany).

History
The planned motorway between Berlin and Kaliningrad (Königsberg) was realized in the 1930s from Berlin up to Szczecin (Stettin). At the Szczecin exit was built a standardized petrol station around 1937. It is still in function today.
