As with other houses, the two architects Mühlstein and Fürth paid attention to a very high-quality finish. The stone cladding gives the house its elegance. The clearly designed house has a central avant-corps towards the banks of the Vltava River, giving it a slight austerity. This is reduced by the recessed top floor and the two flagpoles, as a lighter design element was chosen.
The facade on Ostrovní Street is not exactly symmetrical. It is characterised by the loggias of the apartments.
Even though that the architects were famous for their sophisticated ribbon windows, they seemed to be much too modern for this area.
Two people are commemorated on the house. A memorial plaque commemorates Ferdinand Břetislav Mikovec. He was a Czech writer and an important figure in cultural life. He lived in the previous house in the 19th century. The bust shows Vojtěch Hynais. The bust is symbolically aligned with the National Theatre, for which he designed the stage curtain.
