The Directorate of Czechoslovak State Railways was moved to Hradec Králové in 1919. The impressive main station is a symbol for the presence of this most important railway office in the city.

History

Václav Rejchl designed the train station between 1928 and 1929. In June 1929, the excavations for the foundations began, and from May 1930, the construction of the building started. On May, 5th 1935, the town and the railway company celebrated the inauguration of the new masoned station.
