Greiz savings and construction association (Spar- und Bauverein für Greiz und Umgebung)

Established in 1907 as a cooperative. In the 1920s locations on the outskirts or on mountain slopes were often bought up in Greiz and the surrounding towns in order to build there residential buildings. The basic idea of ​​the cooperative was linked to the change of Greiz into an industrial location, a lack of housing for workers and the self-help idea of ​​circles close to the party SPD to improve people's lives. Today the cooperative is called Gemeinnützige Wohnungsgenossenschaft Greiz.
