The Deutsche Gartenstadt Gesellschaft (German Garden City Society) was founded to propagate the ideas of a healthier life. Many settlements were built in the 20th century, not only in Germany. In 2008, the Network of European Garden Cities was founded to further publicise the ideas of garden cities.
