After studies in Berlin and Dresden he gained experiences in co-operation with older architects and as a urban city planner Berlin, Hamburg and Duisburg. For two years he worked as a city planning officer in Rüstringen and changed in 1922 with the same position to the city of Kiel. Besides many green areas for Kiel he changed to more modern designs. His two last projects were a retirement home and the Kiel job centre in co-operation with Rudolf Schroeder.
