Sebestyén Endre was born with the family name Spitzer. He decided to tak a Hungarian surname instead of a German-Jewish name. Endre is a version of Andrew (András). That made him not only more Hungarian, but also suggested him to have a Christian surname.
He was a productive Szeged based architect since the 1910s.
In 1934 he designed the a tennis court and club house S. E. in Szeged-Újszeged, one of the city's first houses made of reinforced concrete. According to the sources we found on the internet it does not exist anymore.
The most famous modernist building is the Industrial Hall in Szeged.
After World War II he worked on some projects in Szeged. According to the source, he retired in 1954 due to an unfair decision. In purely mathematical terms, this is the year of retirement anyway.
