Raoul Puhali was born in Pula, but raised in Rijeka. He degreed at Vienna University in 1928. His prominent work during the interwar period is the Small skyscraper in Rijeka. In 1945 he was expeled from Rijeka, as he was of Italian origin. He went to Triest and designed many houses in Italy and the US.
