Josef Fňouk likely studied until 1910. After working in Prague and other towns, he left his most significant mark in Hradec Králové. This also includes buildings of the Municipal Hospital. The book Salón republiky highlights on page 98 that the Novákovy garáže, or Garáž Palace, had the greatest influence on urban development in Hradec Králové. Fňouk himself had a fondness for automobiles and was a member of the East Bohemian Automobile Club.
