Helen Baldasar was part of a generation of Southeast European architects who studied in Prague. She completed her studies in 1921, during which time she became acquainted with Czech Cubism. She incorporated elements of this style into her early independent designs. From 1923 to 1932, she worked in Sarajevo, contributing to the relatively early emergence of buildings with modern forms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She also taught at the Technical University of Sarajevo. In 1932, she moved to Split, where she continued similar work. Together with Emil Ciciliani, she established a joint architectural practice, and the two designed several buildings in Split in the spirit of classical modernism.
No works by her are documented after the Second World War.
