Heinrich Schmid studied at Vienna Technical University and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (1907-10). At the Academy he was a student of Otto Wagner. He worked with Hermann Aichinger immediately after graduating until the end of his life. For the most part, the two designed buildings of a moderate modernism with elements of traditional architecture or expressionist features.
