Gustav Schaupp

Jan. 17, 1891 in Reutlingen, Germany
Oct. 17, 1977 in Bad Homburg, Germany

Gustav Schaupp, also recorded under the forenames Gottlob or Georg, worked alongside Ernst May on the project Neues Frankfurt. At the same time, he produced designs for projects in other cities. His participation in the 1946 competition for the reconstruction of St. Paul’s Church, a symbol of democracy, suggests that any involvement with German National Socialism is unlikely.
