Fritz Stüssi studied civil engineering in Zurich. He then worked either theoretically or practically with bridge and steel construction and statics. After World War II, he became president of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. This enabled him to contribute the knowledge he had accumulated throughout his life.
