Nov. 24, 1982 in Sydney, Australia

Ferdinand Silberstein-Silvan graduated in 1925 and started to work in the same year as an architect for Harminc in Bratislava. In 1930 he decided to open his own office. Because of his Jewish origins and the political changes in Europe he was hiding from Nazis in the mountain area of Nizké Tatry. After the end of World War II he worked as a civil servant in Trenčín. But after the Communist coup he decided in 1949 to go to Australia, where he did not work as an architect anymore.
