He studied at the Vienna Technical University and became architect of the Municipality of Vienna. He designed many official buildings like tram depots, many apartment blocks in traditional or Cubistic styles, which are called Gemeindebauten in Vienna, and outdoor swimming pools. A special feature among the outdoor pools were children's outdoor pools, which were built from 1919, specifically to prevent lung diseases. He retired in 1949.
