Bogdan Petrović completed his studies in Zagreb in 1926. Until 1931, he worked alongside Rudolf Lubynski, during which time he designed buildings in a classical and Neo-Baroque style. In 1931, he set up his own practice and began designing houses in the Modernist style. Characteristic features of this approach include flat roofs, horizontally articulated façades, and long rows of windows. It is particularly the corner buildings in Zagreb that stand out for their striking design solutions, such as the insertion of a recessed cubic volume. He continued to embrace the spirit of Modernism in his buildings after the Second World War.
