Inaugurated in 1934 and located in the center of Castellammare di Stabia, it was designed by Marcello Canino. The main name of the station was later supplemented with the designation “Ville Romane di Stabiae”.
The station has three through tracks, although only two are used for passenger service, and one is a terminal track.
The facility also includes the lower station of the Faito Cable Car.
All trains bound for Naples and Sorrento stop at the station.
The Castellammare di Stabia station is part of a project called “Metro Stabia,” which involves the renovation of the facility and the construction of a vertical elevator to connect to the Nuove Terme.
