The construction programme attracted attention because the 11-story building is visible from afar and in the year of construction apartment buildings were usually not that high.
The house is laid out on the triangular plot with slight curves, which make it appear very elegant. The momentum is reinforced by the balconies. The lack of symmetry on both sides increases the positive appeal of the architecture. Shops are on the ground floor, all other floors are housing two apartments per floor from the first to eighth floor. The two upper floors are luxury, as there is one apartment on each floor.

Built in 1939 by the Italian architect Raoul Puhali, as this part of Rijeka belonged to Italy at that time. Sometimes the Italian term for Small skyscraper is still in use: Il grattaciello picollo.
