You simply has to stop and look at the building. Its appearance is entirely restrained. There is virtually no ornamentation; nothing projects from the façade or is applied to it. The building’s only striking features are the horizontal rows of windows, called ribbon windows.
Such a treatment was rather uncommon in Zagreb before the Second World War. The structure is supported internally, allowing the windows to be set directly into the façade, as the façade itself is not load-bearing. As a result, the rooms behind are exceptionally well lit.
The rendered façade is divided into small squares, which serve as its only decorative articulation.
