It was set the plan to built in Litomyšl a national school in 1924 for training people for the uprising industrialization. As a national school the plans were drawn by the national institution called Provincial Comittee. The architect Karel Tymich worked in this office. The plans were realized between 1926 and 1929. The school was named after the Czechoslovak president Tomáš Masaryk, who was the head of the office. He also visited the school, making it a symbol for the educational programme of the 1st Czechoslovak Republic. Simultaneously with the opening of the school, the East Bohemian National Exhibition was held in Litomyšl. However, teaching started not before September 1930.
Today the school called Vyšší odborná škola a Střední odborná škola technická, with a technical and artistic profil. The building is listed since 1958.
