It is not really clear, in which year the little kiosk at the beach of the lake Máchovo jezero in Staré Splavy was built. Somebody checked old postcards and found out, that before 1928 no similar construction was part of the beach.
Discussions arose in 2013 as to whether the kiosk should be demolished to make way for new buildings. In the end, the owners prevailed the kiosk's preservation with a signature campaign.
Next to a cubistic kiosk in Prague this is most probably the only snack bar from the 1920s in Czechia.
