The layout of this gym is almost theatre-like, a function that the building has actually fulfilled since 1968. You enter the building in the centre via an open staircase. A motif like in front of a castle. The foyer is pulled forward slightly to create a larger terrace on the first floor. The red centre section of the building is the highest. On both sides are former gymnasiums. They were given large window fronts for perfect lighting. The gymnasiums are adjoined by two tower-like staircases, which are located in the same place at the rear. Two areas with rooms decorated with ribbon windows are inserted between the front and rear stairwells.
The inscription above the entrance КРАЉУ УЈЕДИНИТЕЉУ means ‘to King Unifier’ and refers to King Aleksandar I Karađorđević. He was the first king of Yugoslavia and was assassinated in 1934. The construction of this building began in the same year. The building's affiliation to the state is thus further expressed with this inscription.
The flagpoles are not located at the building but, as with other public buildings, on the street at the entrance.
Behind the building, on the east side, there is still a sports field today.
