Description

The ground floor with the two shops was initially used as one shop. In the middle, the pillar is surrounded by a showcase to familiarise customers with the shop's products. The flats are located on the floors above. The windows on the sides are ribbon windows, making the flats inside very bright. In the middle of the facade are placed loggias that are symetrically separated by pillars. The small windows of the kitchens and bathrooms can be seen on the side facade. From the street, the house appears to have a flat roof. But when viewed from th side, the pointed roof becomes visible, which Jan Salák always added to his houses.

History

In 1933 and 1934 the house was built as a residence and hat shop of Ferdinand Haišman. During the years of socialism, a shop of the ESO chain was opened, selling sought-after food and drinks. C. Cola, which was rare at the time in Czechoslovakia, could be purchased here. The advertisement above today's grocery shop still reveals its former use by ESO.
