An impressive corner building rich in architectural detail. Standing on the popular shopping street, it is able to make the most of its visual presence.
The original design of 1935 envisaged a building one storey lower, with the avant-corps on the street třída Míru extending further to the left with four additional rows of window. The façade would then have terminated with one broad and one narrow window, while also creating more space for a shop on the ground floor. For financial reasons, however, the more compact version with four upper storeys was chosen.
The stairwell is flooded with light through glass blocks and is particularly striking as it forms the tallest part of the building. The cornice above the shops visually unites the risalit and the stairwell, giving the façade a coherent composition. At the same time, this arrangement creates long terraces for the first floor. The storeys above are equipped with little iconic balconies.
Originally, the name of the client and occupant, Rolnické družstvo, was displayed on the façade.
