With the urban planning of the neighbourhood and Szent István Park, this building was demonstratively erected on the edge of the park.
The Dunapark House is just house No. 42 with the café. But the houses No. 38 and 40 are designed by the same architects and are directly connected with No. 42.
The architects planned the layout of the building facades of No. 38 and 40 the other way round. In the sense that the park side was to have the extended facade with a small inner courtyard and the doors. This would have meant that more flats would have faced the park and the Danube. The straight facade with balconies was to stand along the street Pozsonyi út. But the building council decided in favour of the rotation and so the building was constructed differently than planned.
The long balconies stretch the building. The building masses look very massive and heavy. This was certainly intended to create the impression of luxury.
One of the most ingenious features was an air conditioning system that constantly blew fresh air into the house from the nearby Danube.
